Levels of Approval
Definitions
Approved—ACS has authorized use of this software. Visit the Approved Software List.
Supported—Digital Solutions assists with installation and troubleshooting of the software.
Installation—Setup of computer software on your ACS device, making it ready for use.
 
Approved/Supported – Pre-Installed
Software is supported and pre-installed on any ACS device.
Questions: Contact Endpoint Operations [email protected] or the Service Desk.
Examples: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and OneDrive), Adobe Suite (Pro DC, Creative Cloud, Photoshop), Microsoft Project and Visio, EndNote, Tableau.
 
Approved/Supported – Not installed
Software is supported but not pre-installed on any ACS device.
Questions: Contact the Service Desk for installation and support.
Examples:Power BI, MS Access, Visual Studio, SQL Server
 
Approved/Unsupported – Self-installed
Software is not supported and is not pre-installed on any ACS device. These applications can be installed by the user or with assistance from the Service Desk.
Questions: Contact the Service Desk for installation of the software. Contact the vendor for support.
Examples: Slack, Zoom, home printer software
 
Not Approved
Software is not approved for use and may not be installed on any ACS device.
Questions: If you are missing software and it is not approved or not found on the Approved Software List, please submit a new software request through ACS Marketplace.
Examples: Dropbox, Survey Monkey, QuickBooks

2. If you need software that is approved on the list or if you need software that is not listed, please complete the Software Request form located in ACS Marketplace. For assistance with this, please review the ACS Marketplace Creating Purchase Requisitions Resource Guide on pages 12, 13 and 14.

If you do not have access to ACS Marketplace or if you are unsure of who that contact is, please consult with your manager.

All software must be reviewed with Digital Solutions to ensure alignment with current systems, data security and to avoid duplicative applications.

If your software is not approved, please reach out to the Service Desk to determine if a solution already exists.

If approved, in some cases Digital Solutions may need to create a purchase requisition in ACS Marketplace on your behalf. Once required steps are completed, Digital Solutions will complete the appropriate Service Desk ticket required to initiate software installation. Invoices associated with software purchases will be handled on your behalf.
